Where books go to get reviewed
The Skin Map - Stephen R. Lawhead This book started out with so much promise. Time travel to places and times at random, a damsel in distress, a hero and the bad guys. And then the book goes nowhere fast. Instead of the plot advancing, it bogs down early and never really gets going again. And there goes the potential. The prose is good enough, but the characters could have had more depth and so many chapters are devoted to the same people in the same places that all the science fiction elements that could have made this a better novel are flung down and danced upon, to paraphrase Mark Twain.I'm willing to give the next book in this series a shot, but it's debatable if I'm going to continue with it.
