I won this ARC from LibraryThing. Having read Lauren Groff's first book [b:The Monsters of Templeton|1474628|The Monsters of Templeton|Lauren Groff|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/516i5eHuzPL._SL75_.jpg|2881737], I thought the writing was excellent but the story line needed a bit of work. In this book she puts it all together. Her writing is even better and so is the plot and the result is one of the best books you'll read this year.Without giving away the plot, it's about people growing up in an unusual environment and what the consequences are years later when they are forced to move. The characters are portrayed to perfection, there is no rambling, wasted dialogue and there are numerous scenes in this book that are very moving. I was rooting for the protagonist from the very beginning. If there's any justice this book should become a best seller and I would recommend it to anyone. It's that good.
