The first and last book I'll read by the author. This is an unoriginal, boring book about a hired killer who isn't the brightest bulb in the ceiling. What does he do when he realizes the police are on to him? Run like hell? Change his appearance? No, he takes a shower. At least he'll smell nice if he gets arrested. The first half of the book moves like a tired snail with arthritis. All it deals with is the killer going into long mental debates about what he should do. Which is very little. The second half has an unlikely romance and a few more people getting whacked. By that point I didn't care what happened to anyone. One star for the plot and one for the humorous moments, which was the only redeeming feature.
