This book does a nice job of portraying what life was like back in the late 1950s. That's about the only positive. There's no plot and the dull, unlikeable protagonist without a personality gets walked over like a rug by everyone in town including his kids and mother. If there were pigeons around they'd probably crap on him. The town seems rife with disfunctional people, and nothing really exciting happens. I'm glad I got this at a book sale cheap.
