The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America - Erik Larson I started this book with trepidation as I had read Isaac's Storm by the author previously and it didn't exactly knock my socks off. I got a pleasant surprise as the writing here was noticibly better and created much more of a feel for the topic. Background information is given in an entertaining manner, and the closing of the book reads like a well-written thriller. Even if non-fiction set in the 19th century or a world's fair isn't among your favorites you should give this book a try.
